Constance Machinda highlighted Article 12 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child which underscores the imperative of affording children the opportunity to have a say in their future.

Focusing on how food is produced, Constance said:

“Encouraging children to formulate and express their views, empowers them. It fosters confidence, empathy, and a sense of responsibility towards the environment. Incorporating animal rights education into the curriculum is crucial. By cultivating empathy towards animals we teach a culture of ethics towards everyone.  

“We want a generation of mindful individuals. We need their opinions to help shape the policies of tomorrow."
